This fifth show of the Rooftop Collective (est. 2010) showcases work by:

Chris King – Constanza Isaza Martinez – Mireia Guitart – Paul Clifford – Sue Roche – Toby Deveson – Tom Owens

Curated by Amy Caiger of Caiger Contemporary Art, works displayed in ‘Edition V’ range from sublime landscapes to dynamic portraiture and are created with a plethora of cameras and techniques. This combination presents an immersive experience of photography today, in which it becomes clear that analogue and digital photography are equally relevant – just different. As a group, the shared experiences of living in the cultural hub of London presents opportunities and challenges alike for this group of photographers who participate in ongoing dialogue between one another.

Steve Macleod, Creative Director of Metro Imaging, says of collectives and artists:
“Community is a buzz word that we often use to describe the world of photography – yet that world is populated by rather insulated individuals alone with their ideas and their craft, creatives having to balance risk; doubt; failure and success. Collectives act as a platform to share ideas with like minded people, its also a vital support network allowing artists to explore those ideas so that they can evaluate the same risks; doubts failures and successes.”

About the Rooftop Collective:
Started on the rooftops of Soho in 2010, this group of photographers works together to support and challenge one another in mutual pursuit of ongoing creative and professional development. Today, the group is powered by Be Smart About Art, whose motto is aptly “Art is your life. Make it your living.”

The exhibition is generously supported by Collective Partners:
